In the Ghurawal block of Sonbhadra, a transformative Capacity Building Program on Zari Embroidery and Molt Making (Tera Kota) has been organized to empower artisans and promote traditional craftsmanship. Supported by the Human Resource Development Program of the Ministry of Textiles, this initiative aims to enhance skills and create livelihood opportunities for women artisans.
Inauguration and Participation:
Mr. R.P. Mishra, Assistant Commissioner, inaugurated the lamp lighting ceremony to mark the commencement of the program. A total of 150 participants enthusiastically joined the training sessions, eager to learn and hone their craft in zari embroidery and molt making.
Training and Skill Enhancement:
Throughout the program, participants were immersed in comprehensive training sessions facilitated by expert resource persons. Upon completion of the training, 80 women artisans embarked on their entrepreneurial journey, initiating short-term Income Generating Activities (IGAs) in zari embroidery and molt making.
